Cookie Policy

Short version: this site does not use cookies. This page explains why there is no banner asking you about them, and what it stores in your browser instead.

Draft · Last updated 16 September 2026

Draft — not legal advice.

This is a template rather than a reviewed policy. The factual parts — that no cookies are set, and what is stored locally — were checked against the site’s code. The [FILL IN] spots are for you.

Cookies: none

KooraKick sets no cookies at all. Not a session cookie, not a preference cookie, not an analytics cookie, not an advertising cookie. Nothing in the site writes to document.cookie and nothing sets a Set-Cookie header on a response.

That is also why you have never seen a consent banner here. Banners exist to ask permission for cookies that are not strictly necessary; there are none to ask about, so asking would be theatre.

What your browser stores instead

The site does save two things, using your browser’s local storage rather than cookies. Local storage is not sent to any server — it sits on your device, and only pages from this site can read it:

  • Your theme — light or dark — under the key matchday-theme. It is what stops the page flashing the wrong colours while it loads, and it is the reason the site remembers your choice next visit.
  • Your starred teams, under the key matchday:favorites. It is how the favourites feature keeps your picks.

Neither is shared with us, and neither is backed up. If they are cleared, the site simply returns to its defaults: dark theme, no favourites.

How to clear them

Every browser has a way to clear site data, and it is normally somewhere in the privacy or history settings:

  • Chrome and Edge — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies or Site data, or the padlock icon in the address bar → Cookies and site data.
  • Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data.
  • Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data, or Settings → Advanced → Website Data on iOS.

Clearing everything for the site removes both keys. Private or incognito windows discard them when you close the window.

Images loaded from API-Sports

There is one thing worth being precise about, because it is not nothing. Some images on the site — team crests and competition badges — are loaded directly from API-Sports’ image servers at media.api-sports.io.

That means your browser makes requests to their servers, and those requests carry your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string and the page you were on. It is the same thing that happens on any site that loads an image or font from somewhere else. We do not control those servers and cannot see what they record. What they do with it is covered by API-Sports’ own privacy policy, not this one.

If you block third-party requests in your browser or an extension, the site still works — you will just see missing crests.

If this changes

If cookies are ever added — for analytics, for advertising, for anything — this page and the privacy policy change before they go live, and a proper consent mechanism goes up with them. Until that appears, there is nothing here to consent to.
